Christianity and Islam are wide spread religions which impact the lives of believers spiritually. Both religions have had substantial impact on the course of history and have formed the basis of many countries laws and are highly recognized by governments. Though Christianity is more widely known, they both pose the same challenges to each other. Considering the similarities and differences of Christianity and Islam, it can be said they are both very different. Comparing the two religions, is simpler due to the clear difference between the beliefs of the religions as well as practices in worship. The historic origin of the two religions was much easier especially that of Christianity which begun as a Jewish sect in the Mediterraneanâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Islam is an Arabic word meaning submission and therefore Islam religion is believed to be an Abrahamic religion which believes in submission to the almighty God Allah and Muhammad as the prophet. Quran is the holy book beli eved to be the guideline of the Muslims who are the followers of the Islamic religion. It is believed that Allah repeatedly revealed to Muhammad verbally through angel Gabriel and recited in the Quran (Hadith of Revelation, Volume 1, Book 1, Number 3). Over time particular aspects arose from the Quranic teachings and Muslims began to have questions about the teachings and translation of The Quran, thus, narrations were developed in Hadiths. Christians believe in prayer, worship in church, bible study, acts of charity and communion will is following the teachings of the Holy Bible. Muslims follow the belief of the five pillars of Islam; Allah is God and Muhammad is the prophet, prayer, charity, pilgrimage and fasting during Ramadan (Hadith on Belief, Volume 1, Book 2, Number 7). The two religions also affirm that God sends angels and prophets to convey messages to his people and through inspired scriptures reveals his divine will. They also believe in the judgement day when God will intervene in the history of mankind and determine their eternal lives depending on personal beliefs and actions.
